澳大利亚芙班科文法学校(Firbank Grammar School)是澳大利亚维多利亚州一所蜚声海外的百年名校，也是我校VCE学子的学籍注册校。在维多利亚州565所中学中，芙班科文法学校综合排名前10名，高考排名第29名。
BANZ作为澳大利亚芙班科文法学校(Firbank Grammar School)在上海的直属校区，学生入学BANZ的澳洲VCE课程，即获得澳大利亚维多利亚州高中学籍和芙班科文法学校学籍。

Q1：首先请做一个简单的自我介绍吧

大家好，我是Wendy Grant,是澳大利亚墨尔本芙班科文法学校(Firbank Grammar School)负责国际事务与课程的副校长。
I’m Wendy Grant,and I’m deputy principal of international and curriculum at Firbank Grammar school in Melbourne Australia.
Q2：您在中国已经生活很长一段时间，您最喜欢中国的哪些方面?

我来过中国很多很多次，我最喜欢这个国家的是这里的人们以及我在这里建立的友谊。我发现中国人非常温暖、好客，总是乐于助人。同时，我也喜爱中国深厚的历史与丰富的文化，每座城市都不一样，都有自己独特的面貌，中国在许多地方景色优美，而且十分整洁。我真的很喜欢去中国的不同地区。
I have visited China many, many times. One of the things I enjoy most about this country is the people in this country and the friendships that I have made during my time here. I find that Chinese people are very warm and hospitable and always very helpful. But I also like the rich history and the culture of China. Every city is different and has its own special outlook. China is also very beautiful in many places, and it's also very clean. And I really enjoy travelling to different parts of China.
Q3：在您看来，中国学生可以从VCE课程当中收获哪些成长?

芙班科文法学校副校长
我认为，中国学生从VCE课程中获得的主要收获之一，就是通过该课程培养起来的技能。这些技能包括能够独立并批判性思考，以及能够协作和沟通等等。同学们在整个VCE课程中学到的所有这些技能，都会在同学们离开学校、进入大学和就业时让他们受益匪浅。所以我一直说，VCE是教你如何思考，而不是思考什么，这非常重要。
I think that one of the main things that Chinese students can gain from the VCE program is the skills that are developed through the program. These skills include being able to think independently and critically, as well as being able to collaborate and communicate. All of these skills that you learn throughout the VCE program will stand you in great stead as you leave school, go to university, and get employment. So the VCE，always say teaches you how to think, not what to think，that's really important.
Q4：您会给中国学生什么样的建议，帮助他们学好VCE?

这是一个与中国学生可能习惯的课程非常不同的课程，我的建议是学生要持续不断地学习。所以，一步一步来，不要等到作业截止才匆忙完成，遇到困难时请及时向老师寻求帮助。每节课上，如果有任何不理解的地方，请务必向老师请教。我认为，中国学生与澳大利亚学生之间的一个显著差异在于：中国学生有时不太愿意提问。他们乐于安静听讲，但必须确保自己真正理解每一个小步骤。只要你们坚持不懈、踏实努力，就一定能在这个VCE课程中取得良好的成绩。
It is a very different program from what Chinese students may be used to, and my advice is for students to work consistently. So just one step at a time. Don't leave completing work until later once it's set, and ask your teachers for help. In each lesson, please ask the teachers for help if there's something you don't understand. I think that's one difference I've noticed between Chinese students and Australian students: Chinese students are sometimes not willing to ask questions. They're happy to sit and listen, but they need to be able to make sure that they understand. Take small steps, work consistently, and you will succeed in the program.
Q5：除了学科成绩之外，学校同样十分看重学生个人综合成长。您认为一名优秀的VCE学生，应当具备哪些个人品质?

我认为，对于VCE学生以及所有学生来说，拥有良好的价值观非常重要。保持正直和诚实至关重要，而韧性，我认为在当今时代比以往任何时候都更加重要，所以，那些可能因为某些事感到不开心或受到挑战的学生，需要有一些策略来克服这些情绪，你需要有韧性。此外，我认为学生需要保持好奇，所以你需要有能力去思考：哦，那是什么样子?可能会发生什么?这就是好奇心。而且你还必须善良。善待自己，照顾好自己并关注自己的健康，同时也要对他人友善。所以我认为，所有这些东西都会帮助你成长为一个优秀的人，而世界需要的是优秀的公民，这正是我们期望培养的。
I think for VCE students, and for all students really, it's important to have good values. So it's important to have integrity and be honest. And resilience is something that I think nowadays is more important than ever.
So students that might feel unhappy or challenged by something need to have strategies for getting over that. You need to be resilient. I think students need to be curious, so you need to have the ability to think: Oh, what does that look like? What could happen? So, curiosity. And also you have to be kind. Kind to yourself, look after yourself and your wellbeing, but also kind to other people.
So I think all of those things will help you develop as a good person, and what the world needs is good citizens. That's what we hope to develop.
Q6：十月末的VCE高考即将到来，请您给VCE的同学们送上几句鼓励

同学们临近考试时，我知道大家一直都在非常努力。如果平时能够坚持学习，现阶段只需要复盘过往所学的内容，尽可能多做模拟测试，熟悉考试的题型与流程。但与此同时，一定要照顾好自己。善待自己，保证充足睡眠。我认为睡眠对当下的学生而言至关重要。遇到疑问，记得主动请教老师。相信你们每个人都已经尽自己所能做好准备，如果你们做到了这些，我相信你们一定会成功，并且会对自己感到满意。尽力而为，所得即是收获。
Students once they approach exams,and I know that you've been working very hard,If you've been working consistently,You just need to review all the work that you've done,and do as many mock exams as possible,so you're familiar with the format of the exams. But again, you need to look after yourself. So be kind to yourself; get a lot of sleep. I think sleep is very important for students these days. And if you're not sure of something, go and ask your teacher. So I'm sure that everybody is as prepared as they possibly can be. And if you've done that, then I'm sure you will succeed, and you'll be happy with yourself: I've done my very best. So therefore, what I achieve is what I achieve.
